About Us
A friendly space for local men in Kemnay.
Kemnay Men's Shed was established in 2025 with a simple aim — to create a safe, friendly and welcoming space where local men can meet, chat, share skills and feel part of their community.
We are currently in the process of fully establishing the Shed within the community. While we work towards securing a permanent home and setting up our workshop, we are meeting socially and taking part in community-focused activities and small projects around Kemnay.
For now, we meet every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at:
Kemnay Village Hall, 8 Aquithie Road, Kemnay, AB51 5SS
Wednesdays · 6:30 – 8:30pm
Our Purpose
The Shed exists to give men a place to connect, unwind and get involved in meaningful activities. Whether it's chatting over a cup of tea, helping with a community project, or planning future workshop activities, the Shed offers a supportive environment where everyone is welcome.
What We're Building
- A strong, friendly group of local men
- A future workshop space for making, fixing and learning
- Regular social meet-ups and wellbeing support
- Community projects that benefit Kemnay
- A place where men can talk openly, if and when they choose
Come Along
There's no fee and no need to book — Kemnay Men's Shed is a charity and membership is completely free. Just turn up on a Wednesday evening, say hello and see what it's all about.
What we believe
Four quiet principles
Shoulder to shoulder
Men talk best when they're doing something together. We keep things informal — the conversation happens naturally.
Everyone is welcome
Age, ability, background, faith — none of it matters at the door. If you can hold a cup of tea you can be at the shed.
Useful, not perfect
We want to make things that someone needs. A wobbly bench used daily beats a flawless one on a shelf.
Look after each other
If a member misses a couple of weeks, someone checks in. Quiet, unfussy mutual support.
Scottish Men's Sheds Association
Part of a national movement
Kemnay Men's Shed is connected to the Scottish Men's Sheds Association, the national support body that helps sheds across Scotland thrive. The SMSA provides guidance, training, funding advice and a network of fellow sheds — so we're never working in isolation.
